Happy 2008!

As the West Coast rang in the New Year, I was awakened to my six-year old telling me that she had just thrown up in the toilet. Phew, I thought. Poor thing. At least she made it to the bathroom. No icky sheets or jammies to have to deal with. Um. Yeah. The sheets & jammies would have been much more pleasant than what I discovered. She almost made it to the toilet. The bathroom walls were covered about 3 feet up. Literally. The World's Greatest Husband did the cleaning up. He has a much stronger stomach than I do, but even he was gagging & choking & had to wear a kerchief over his face. He even had to remove one of the baseboards to do a good job. Poor man was awake for another 1 1/2 hours because his stomach hurt so bad because of the stench. I hope this is not any sort of indication of what the year has in store for us.

So as we move on to 2008, I say good-bye to all 2007 has had for us. Good-bye....

.....pregnancy with my first {enormous} son....
.....year one of homeschooling & start of year two....
.....diapers for Sienna.....
.....being a mom of two girls....
.....year 29 of my life....
.....year 9 of marriage.....

And hopefully I will say a BIG "hello" to many new and wonderful exciting things that this year has to bring. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me and my family.

Anything particular you are looking forward to in '08? Or something you are happy to say good-bye to in '07?

P.S. My 200th post is approaching here shortly & I've made something lovely to give away....

Hey Bec!

I hope she is feeling better! i would off loved to see Rich cleaning that puke up. I wouldn't have done it either - it would of made me throw up!

How's the boy doing? Sleeping long periods of time during the night? No, I'm not that lucky yet! I'm still getting up every 3 hours... on the dot! Drew loves to eat. He's about 12 1/2 pounds now and is cooing and smiling now. I can't believe he's 14 weeks old... almost 4 months. Where is the time going?

Anyways, I'm saying Good Bye to pop...yup. Im finally doing it -- I'm up to 7 cans a day...thats like 1200 calories. GROSS! So, I'm saying good bye as of this morning and saying Hello to working out and running. My goal is to lose 4 pounds to get back to 110 by 9/1 before all these weddings I have going on this fall.
So, wish me lots of luck...my head will be pounding by 3pm today.

Love you!!! Skyra

Just be glad it was only one child throwing up and brace yourself for the day when you've got three less-than-perfect aimers! Yuck-o.

Can't wait to see your "anniversary gift". Does it include a magnetic closure? I'm just afraid of poking something through the fabric--how does it not tear out?

So sorry to hear the story of the sickness. Have any of the rest of you got it so far? When one of us gets something, it travels through all of us. Hopefully it doesn't happen for you. And I'm so proud of Rick for cleaning it up! I'm sure Josh would if he *had* to, but I'm usually the one to do the dirty work.

And I can't wait to see what you have made! I still need to put in my order for a bag...when you have the time (aside from your newborn and two girls).

Oh, yes and I forgot...
For 2008, I can't wait to say Hello to my 25th Birthday in June. (Then I will be "of age" to adopt from the countries that we are looking at! YAY!)

So, how's everyone feeling? Hopefully you and Rick didn't get that nasty bug! That would be rough with a newborn. Two thousand eight will be a good one...saying goodbye to babies (yea!!), hopefully goodbye to a car payment, hello to our five year anniversary, and a family vacation!

Hello to more fun as a family and Hello to mommy being a little more peaceful hopefully this year ;0) Oh and hello to my 10th year reunion!!! take care, if you need anything give me a ring, chirp, email, lol.

I wasn't a "bug" at all. I think it was because she had gone to the movie theatre that evening. Probably ate too much popcorn & pop. This has happened before, although never to this degree. There was a spurt where she would throw up in her bed if she ate junk food near bed time. Sometimes she wouldn't even know she had done it til morning & sometimes not even then. Weird & yucky.

Thanks for all your concern!

I am trying to upload the pictures for my 200th post as we speak......;>)
